Abstract:

Introduction: Land application of wastewater is a common method of treatment and disposal. Absorption ponds, also known as seepage cells, are one type among several land application techniques which have evolved as a cost effective means for land disposal of wastewater. Absorption pond systems are used for treatment and disposal of a variety of waste types including wastewaters generated by the dairy and cheese industry, food processing industry and municipal sewage treatment plants.
