Abstract:

This project is designed to optimize nanoparticulate oxide adsorbents and utilize UV light for the removal of both arsenate and arsenite. The process requires no pH adjustment and is accomplished in one adsorption step. Fundamental laboratory studies will be conducted at UW-Madison and a field test will be performed at a small water supplier in Illinois in connection with work being performed at the Illinois State Water Survey for the Midwest Technology Assistance Center.
